The Ravenheat Little Star Ls 80 Lpg expansion vessel is a unit to cope with the expansion of water in a home heating system or hot water system due to rises in temperature. When water rises in temperature that expands, particularly when it is placed under pressure such as in a sealed heating system or an unvented hot water cylinder. Expansion tanks typically consist of a storage container or disc which is divided inside into two compartments separated with a rubber sheet, known as the diaphragm. Inside the expansion vessel there is water on one side of the diaphragm and air or an inert gas such as nitrogen under pressure on the other side.
